Outlook: Co-Authoring Highlight and Rewrite

Users can now collaborate with Copilot to make improvements to email drafts.

What changed

Select a section of the draft and ask Copilot to make changes, like changing its length, tone, or structure.

Why it matters

Copilot can rewrite selected email content, so supported clients, licensing and information-protection behavior need a controlled pilot.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Confirm the supported Outlook client and Microsoft 365 Copilot license
  • Pilot length, tone and structure rewrites on nonsensitive messages
  • Validate sensitivity-label and DLP behavior before rollout
