What’s new in Microsoft Entra: October 2026

Microsoft's October Entra roundup adds device-aware Universal CAE, mTLS-bound workload tokens, guided Cloud Sync migration and Microsoft-managed TLS-inspection certificates among the month's identity and network-access releases.

What changed

Microsoft's October Entra roundup adds device-risk and revocation signals to Universal CAE, makes mTLS proof-of-possession token binding generally available for supported managed-identity workloads, and introduces guided Cloud Sync migration plus Microsoft-managed TLS-inspection certificates.

Why it matters

The releases change session revocation, workload-token replay resistance, hybrid identity synchronization and Global Secure Access certificate operations, while individual capabilities have different GA or public-preview states.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Pilot Universal CAE with deleted, disabled and noncompliant-device signals and verify access revocation in Global Secure Access
  • Validate mTLS token binding in preproduction with a supported managed identity on Trusted Launch or Confidential VM or VM Scale Sets accessing Azure Key Vault
  • Assess Cloud Sync migration readiness and test Microsoft-managed TLS-inspection certificates separately, preserving rollback and certificate-trust validation
