Delivery Optimization Troubleshooter creates support-ready log bundles

Microsoft published a PowerShell Gallery troubleshooter for Delivery Optimization and Microsoft Connected Cache diagnostics.

What changed

DeliveryOptimizationTroubleshooter.ps1 can collect service logs, configuration, network data, event logs and performance information with -GenerateSupportBundle. The optional -ReproduceIssue flow enables verbose logging while the problem is reproduced.

Technical details

  • Install-Script -Name DeliveryOptimizationTroubleshooter
  • DeliveryOptimizationTroubleshooter.ps1 -GenerateSupportBundle
  • DeliveryOptimizationTroubleshooter.ps1 -GenerateSupportBundle -ReproduceIssue

Why it matters

The bundle exposes policy sources, peer and cache usage, proxy and network state, return codes and Microsoft Connected Cache reachability, reducing time to diagnose poor peering or cache efficiency.

Known limitations

  • The reproduction flow temporarily enables verbose tracing and restarts the Delivery Optimization service.

Now check

  • Run the tool on a representative device with poor Delivery Optimization efficiency
  • Review troubleshooter-output.txt, perfsnap-dosvc.txt and config-dosvc.txt
  • Confirm DownloadMode, proxy settings, peer reachability and Microsoft Connected Cache traffic
