October 2026 Windows client Azure images: servicing and media checklist

Microsoft refreshed Azure client images on 13 October. 24H2 and 25H2 use KB5127648; the image table does not list a 26H2 image.

What changed

The published 24H2 and 25H2 Azure image versions are 26100.9711.261011-1558 and 26200.9711.261011-1559. They include .NET KB5127690, SafeOS KB5127654 and SetupDU KB5127650.

Why it matters

New deployments inherit the selected image's patch and runtime baseline; image publication is not proof that existing devices or reference WIMs are updated.

Known limitations

Azure Marketplace images are not downloadable enterprise ISO or reference-WIM media.

Now check

Choose the version and edition-specific Marketplace image, not an assumed 26H2 SKU
For 26H2 OSD, obtain licensed installation media and validate the enablement or full-upgrade path separately
When updating media, match SafeOS, SetupDU, checkpoint packages and boot.stl to the target version and architecture
