Now available: Admin control for SSO prompts in Windows

IT administrators can now automatically accept SSO permissions on managed Windows devices using a supported registry setting.

What changed

In this context, SSO, or single sign-on, refers to using the Microsoft credentials from a user’s Windows sign-in to access other Microsoft apps and services without seeing any prompts. This new capability is available beginning with the July 2026 monthly security update ( KB5101650 ) for Windows 11, version 24H2 and 25H2.

Why it matters

Device-management changes can affect policy processing, reporting, app delivery or support workflows across managed endpoints.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Map the change to affected Windows editions and management rings
  • Pilot the documented KB, policy or feature on representative devices
  • Validate reporting, compatibility and rollback before broad rollout
