RDP Multipath adds resilient TCP paths for Windows 365 and AVD
Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop now support RDP Multipath with redundant TCP connections to reduce disconnects when a network path degrades or changes.
What changed
A remote session can use more than one TCP path instead of depending on a single connection. The additional path improves continuity across unstable, mobile or changing networks.
Technical details
- Redundant TCP paths for RDP
- Improved connection resiliency
- Fewer session interruptions during path degradation
Why it matters
Remote-session stability directly affects Cloud PC and AVD user experience, especially for home offices, Wi-Fi transitions and networks with intermittent loss.
Known limitations
- Network and client prerequisites are documented by Microsoft
- Multipath does not remove the need to validate proxy, firewall and latency conditions
Now check
- Pilot on representative office, home and mobile networks
- Confirm required endpoints and network policies
- Compare disconnect and reconnect telemetry before wider rollout
