Apple OS 27 DDM status data in device inventory

Microsoft Intune will add Apple OS 27 declarative device management (DDM) status data to device inventory.

What changed

You'll be able to review system health information for supported hardware components, content cache details, and MDM state such as enrollment type, awaiting configuration, Return to Service, Shared iPad, and Lockdown Mode. Reported values will depend on the device's supported operating system, hardware, enrollment type, and available DDM capabilities.

Why it matters

DDM inventory can expose Apple hardware health, content-cache and MDM-state details without separate custom collection, but available fields vary by OS, hardware and enrollment type.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Confirm the supported Apple OS 27, hardware, enrollment and DDM prerequisites
  • Pilot inventory collection for hardware health, content cache, enrollment type, Return to Service, Shared iPad and Lockdown Mode
  • Validate field availability, reporting latency, RBAC visibility and helpdesk use before wider adoption
