Remove an individual eSIM from a corporate-owned Android device

Microsoft Intune now lets you remove a single eSIM from a corporate-owned Android Enterprise device without wiping it.

What changed

Turn on Preview new device view , select the device, copy the eSIM's ICCID from device inventory, then select Remove eSIM and enter the ICCID. The action supports fully managed and dedicated devices on Android 15 and later, and work profile devices on Android 17 and later.

Why it matters

Device-management changes can affect policy processing, reporting, app delivery or support workflows across managed endpoints.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Confirm supported Android version, carrier URL and corporate-owned scope
  • Pilot activation and wipe with eSIM preservation
  • Document when helpdesk may remove an eSIM during retirement
