Client-driven compliance evaluation (preview)

For supported Windows devices, Intune supports client-driven compliance evaluation.

What changed

With this capability, a device can detect certain local state changes and proactively request a compliance re-evaluation, rather than waiting for the next scheduled check-in cycle. State changes that can trigger a client-driven compliance evaluation include changes to device configuration, security posture, and other settings that affect a device's compliance state.

Why it matters

Device-management changes can affect policy processing, reporting, app delivery or support workflows across managed endpoints.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Map the announced change to affected Intune workloads and supported platforms
  • Pilot the exact profile, app or device action named by Microsoft
  • Review policy, app, enrollment and support reports before rollout
