Stage app and policy rollout with deployment plans

Microsoft Intune now supports deployment plans for staged application and policy rollouts.

What changed

Microsoft Intune deployment plans can stage Win32 and Enterprise App Catalog apps, Settings Catalog profiles and Endpoint Security policies across multiple rollout rings with controlled timing and Multiple Admin Approval integration.

Why it matters

A single deployment plan gives endpoint teams a governed sequence for validation and production rollout, reducing blast radius and preventing one administrator from approving high-impact fleet changes alone.

Known limitations

  • Availability, prerequisites and rollout scope remain authoritative in the linked Microsoft documentation.

Now check

  • Define pilot, validation and production rings with explicit membership and rollout timing
  • Test Win32 or Enterprise App Catalog apps plus Settings Catalog and Endpoint Security policies in a nonproduction plan
  • Validate Multiple Admin Approval, progress reporting, pause and rollback ownership before broad deployment
