Separate device and work profile passwords on Android Enterprise devices

Microsoft Intune now supports the Block one lock for device and work profile setting in the Android Enterprise settings catalog, letting you require separate locks for the device and work profile instead of a shared one.

What changed

Set it to True after configuring a work profile password requirement. The default, False , allows a common lock.

Why it matters

Device-management changes can affect policy processing, reporting, app delivery or support workflows across managed endpoints.

Known limitations

Now check

  • Map the announced change to affected Intune workloads and supported platforms
  • Pilot the exact profile, app or device action named by Microsoft
  • Review policy, app, enrollment and support reports before rollout
